hot chicks

These chickens are stinkers! The two bigger ones figured out how to get out through the chicken wire and got themselves caught between the crate and the wall. Maddie came running up to me yelling, "Help, help, chickies out, chickies out," and sure enough they were!! They were fine and I scooped them up and back into their home, but Dan had to make some modifications. He put cardboard along the bottom perimeter so they can't squeeze through the holes anymore. The plan was to keep it up until they were too big to escape, but right now they LOVE the cardboard over hangs and they hop up there and perch and sleep.....we may just keep it up until they move outside. It's pretty amazing to watch these ladies grow, they seriously change everyday. Fun. Tomorrow is supposed to be a pretty warm day and I think we're gonna let the chicks outside to run around while we garden. It should be interesting!

Our little chickies the day we got them.
Oh, how they've grown!
