Felt food......FINALLY

I FINALLY finished making felt food! I'll probably try and tackle a few more foodie items, but not anytime in the near future. I think they turned out really well, especially for not having patterns or anything. I will say though that it felt like it took forever to complete everything! You'd think that because they are small it would be a breeze to whip a whole bunch of carrots, or donuts out, but there is very little I could do with a sewing machine so 98% of the work was hand sewing which takes a looong time! Surprisingly, the eggs and pancakes were the easiest.....the strawberries were easy too, but stitching all of the white seeds was time consuming. The carrots and dounts were by far the most complicated, time consuming and the biggest pains in my tushie. But I learned a lot in the process, had fun making them (most of the time) and I really love the end result! I may be delusional and totally wrong, but I feel like the girls will play with the felt food more than they played with the plastic food that we used to have. These food items look more real, the wool felt feels better in the hands and it has a better weight to it. And the fact that their Mama made it is an added bonus....although I'm sure that fact won't be fully appreciated! :o) All in all this was a fun project. I feel accomplished for having finished what I started and I really think they turned out cute! Bon Appetite.
